Computer giant Dell has announced that it has paired off with global internet communications company Skype in the latest tech sector marriage. News of the happy union comes hot on the heels of Dell's recent infatuation with Google, and search engine Yahoo's hook-up with Skype's parent company, eBay.

US and Canadian customers of Voice over Internet Protocol phone company Skype can now make free calls to landlines and mobile phones within the two countries. Such calls previously cost 2 cents a minute.

T-Mobile UK has taken against Skype and other VoIP applications - at least as far as its new Web 'n' Walk Professional mobile internet access airtime package goes. According to the company's service terms and conditions, it's none too keen on instant messaging either.
